A five-week cookery course for men who have completed our beginners Man with a Pan course and want to continue their culinary learning.

A five week improvers cookery course for men who have completed our Man with a Pan course for beginners.

Course objectives:

  • Build cooking confidence: We teach a portfolio of easy-to-follow recipes that are tailored to individual tastes, focusing on simple techniques to create nutritious meals.
  • Promote social connections: We encourage group discussions and social interaction during each class to reduce isolation and promote community building.
  • Focus on wellbeing: We emphasize the role of nutrition in mental and physical health, helping participants understand how food can support overall wellbeing.
  • Support independence: We equip participants with skills to cook for themselves, fostering greater independence and self-care at home.

Target audience:

This course is for men who have completed our beginner’s cookery course and want to continue learning. It is suitable for men who may be facing life changes such as bereavement, living alone, or experiencing social isolation.

What to expect:

The sessions are hands-on with expert tuition.

We cook and eat lunch together and take an extra meal home.

The £10 fee covers all tuition, ingredients, resources and administration.

This course is funded by the National Lottery and delivered by Community Chef CIC.
