Testimonials
Thank you so much to Robin and his team, Alex and Tim for delivering two brilliant, interactive and hands-on workshops to nearly 50 of our employees to celebrate our return to the office in September 2021, as well as an outstanding, delicious and seasonal lunch for over 100 of our employees.
We had such a great experience working with Robin from the initial brief right through to the end of the event. It was an absolute pleasure to partner together and have already recommended him to our other office for more employee workshops and catering. We highly recommend Robin and the Community Chef team, thank you

I have done several cookery courses with Robin and each one has been a delight.
South Indian Cookery was fantastic, gluten free baking changed my life, I now make sourdough gluten-free rice bread all the time which is a real treat! Thank you Robin – excellent facility, great experience and all that yummy food we get to make and EAT!

Community Chef ran a fantastic day of healthy cookery workshops for all 80 of our staff during our recent Wellbeing Day.
He facilitated four different workshops and then cooked a meal for everyone. Feedback from the staff was that it was hands down the best workshop of the day. Robin was a pleasure to work with. From his prompt reply to my email query to the design and delivery of a seamless day of activities, he was faultless. We’d love him to come back next year.

Community Chef has worked with Portsmouth City Council since 2007 putting on public cookery events across the City.
They have hosted and managed our Kitchen Theatre stage at the Southsea Food Festival for the last 3 years.
Their demonstrations have always been enigmatic, creative and delicious. Robin is a charismatic and knowledgeable compère and his demo’s always draw a big crowd. He is really supportive and has helped our less confident local cooks to deliver engaging demonstrations. He is also very professional and personable to work with. I cannot recommend Community Chef enough!

Robin is an absolute genius, a visionary man. He is an exemplary facilitator and has the amazing capacity to close down useless noise in order to focus attention on what needs to be worked on.
His courses are illuminating and inspiring and he is a powerhouse of care, energy and enthusiasm. He is someone who’s able to give an enormous amount at his own personal risk. I cannot recommend him enough!

Since it was first founded and started operating out of the Lewes Community Kitchen three years ago, The Feature Kitchen has tripled in size. This is in no small part down to Robin’s superb advice, generosity, and support for the social enterprise.
Both myself and over a hundred collaborators, guest chefs and kitchen staff, have benefited significantly from Robin’s mentorship, directly or indirectly, and learnt a great deal in both kitchen practice and business administration, as well as enjoying many happy hours at the community kitchen

We were delighted with the cookery demonstrations Community Chef delivered at our Beautiful Botanics weekend at Wakehurst Place.
The menu they prepared and their emphasis on local food and sustainability were in perfect harmony with the ethics and vision we have for Wakehurst Place.
The crowds were enraptured and loved the generous tasters of the food Robin and his crew prepared. Thank you for your hard work and excellent service.

Community Chef Robin Van Creveld has been training and mentoring Community Stuff for the past six years. In that time we have worked extremely hard and our organisation flourished.
Delivering grassroots cookery sessions within the community in areas of high deprivation. Last year we published our first book, Beyond the Foodbank, and we were voted Best Community Organisation in the Best of Sussex Awards 2019.
Robin has been there to advise us throughout our journey, and continues to mentor us today. We couldn’t have done it without him. Thank you Robin.

Community Chef has made an immense contribution to the health and wellbeing of in our community. (Surrey Heath).
The development and delivery of the “Man with a Pan” project has been exceptional and has helped over 200 isolated and vulnerable older men to learn to cook and participate in positive and fun activities. Perhaps the greatest benefit has been for the most vulnerable – those sleeping rough and those with long term unemployment. The impact has been to build personal confidence in individuals. This to the point where some (sleeping rough) have found the strength to apply for and obtain safe, secure housing. Others have been able to apply for, and obtain, employment in our area. Robin van Creveld has a magic touch which he has brought to our community. We thank him for his generosity, time and expertise.

Robin has been an inspiration to me through his work as Community Chef. Firstly, when teaching me to bake, but also in supporting me during a tough time of my life when my mental health difficulties meant I was in search of a new direction.
As a mentor he encouraged me to follow the idea of a community bakery, and through his gentle challenge and enthusiastic support I was able to establish Stoneham Bakehouse. His work with different community groups across the county continues to influence and inspire our business.

Robin’s inspirational teaching and discipline has helped some young people raise their aspirations as well as improve their cooking skills and eating healthily.
One young man transformed as a result of the cooking course, he signed up at the local college for a catering course and is now working as a chef. I cannot recommend Community Chef Enough. They are professional, astute and dedicated to helping people to improve their health and wellbeing.
I have been working with Community Chef for over 5 years to help with community engagement and originally upskilling young people, but we expanded to low income families and then the entire community.
