The Man With A Pan project is up for an award – and here is a message from Community Chef founder and director, Robin Van Creveled:
“For the past year we have been running Man with a Pan cookery courses for older men, in partnership with Camberley Alzheimer Café. This has been one of our most successful projects to date. This project tackles loneliness and builds community. It helps the men to be healthy, feel purposeful and be active. The men have loved the courses and the local community wants us to run this as an ongoing programme.
“Ours is one of five projects in the London Region selected to take part in the National Lottery’s People’s Projects, a funding competition where the public votes to decide which projects receive funding.
“If successful, we will use the grant to enable even more men who are vunerable, carers or living on their own, to attend these cookery courses.
“Man with a Pan will further contribute to the welfare of the local community with monthly community catering sessions where the men prepare food for the homeless and clients of the food bank.
“The simplest method of voting is online here: PLEASE VOTE FOR US
“Your vote will make a huge difference!
“Thank you very much, Robin Van Creveld”
