A training course to help Ukrainian and other refugees or asylum seekers set up their own food businesses.
The course is hands-on and runs one evening a week over five weeks
We cover the following:
- Concept and product development
- Assessing the market
- Basic business planning – startup and operating costs
- Setting up and registering a food premises
- Food safety and hygiene training
- Self-employment guidelines
- Setting up a limited company or social enterprise.
- Legislation and regulations
- Marketing and customer engagement
Trainees receive dinner and refreshments, a detailed handbook packed with resources and a certificate.
Succesful graduates will receive ongoing mentoring which includes the subsidised use of a commercial kitchen.
We have an interpreter for Ukrainian trainees.
