A five week cookery, nutrition and wellbeing course for unpaid adult carers.
This five week course focuses on prepareing delicious and heart-healthy meals that support cardiovascular health. Through hands-on lessons and informative discussions, participants will learn about the role of nutrition in heart disease prevention and overall well-being.

- Understanding Heart Health: Introduction to heart disease risk factors and the importance of diet in preventing cardiovascular problems.
- Essential Nutrients: Learn about heart-healthy nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants, and potassium, and how they contribute to a healthy heart.
- Healthy Cooking Techniques: Demonstrations on low-fat cooking methods like steaming, grilling, and baking, as well as tips for reducing sodium and added sugars in meals.
- Meal Planning: Guidance on creating balanced meal plans using whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
- Heart-Healthy Recipes: Practical cooking sessions featuring easy-to-make, nutritious recipes such as salads, soups, grilled fish, and plant-based dishes.
- Reading Labels & Grocery Shopping: Tips on selecting heart-healthy ingredients, understanding food labels, and making informed choices at the store.

This course is open to all unpaid adult carers.
There is a £5 booking fee which is refunded on attendance.
